What we collect, and what we do with it.
What you type into a form, plus the two things we work out from your ZIP code and address. Three companies see parts of it. We never sell any of it.
What you give us
Whatever you type into a form on this site. Depending on which form, that is your first and last name, your email address, and optionally a phone number, street address, town, ZIP code, and a message. If a form has checkboxes for volunteering, organizing your town, donating, or receiving text messages, we record which ones you ticked.
Every submission also records the time, your IP address, and your browser's user agent. Ordinary web server practice, and we use it to catch automated abuse and to enforce a limit on how many times one address can submit a form.
What we work out from it
Two things, and we store both alongside your record.
Your county. We look your ZIP code up in a table of New Hampshire ZIP codes that lives on our own server. Nothing leaves the building for this.
Your New Hampshire House districts. If you give us a street address, we send it to Geocod.io, a geocoding company, which returns the districts that address sits in. We store the districts, the county, and the time the lookup ran. Most Granite Staters sit in two districts at once, their town's own and a larger one laid over it, so a town name alone cannot tell us who represents you.
Which companies see any of it
Three, and only the parts each one needs.
Geocod.io receives your street address, town, state and ZIP code when we look up your districts. It receives nothing else, and it holds that under its own terms rather than ours.
Cloudflare runs the bot check on our forms. It sees your IP address and a short-lived token. It does not see what you typed.
Mailgun delivers our email, so it handles your email address and the contents of any message we send you.
Our mailing list itself runs on software we host on our own server rather than on a marketing platform, so your record is not sitting in a third party's account.
The mailing list
Signing the petition adds you to our mailing list. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and one click is enough.
Writing to us through the contact form does not add you to anything, unless you tick the box on that form that asks. It is not ticked for you and it is not required to send a message. If you send us a question and leave it alone, you get an answer, not a newsletter.
Whether you ticked it is stored on your record, so that if you ever ask us why you are on the list, we can look the answer up.
The map on the front page
The county map is built from the ZIP codes of people who have signed. It names the counties, and it shows one unlabelled mark per town where at least one person has signed. It never shows how many people and it never shows who.
The mark is the same whether one person there signed or fifty, so it cannot say how many, and a ZIP code covers a town or part of one. If you would rather your town not carry a mark, email us and we will exclude your record from the map.
The district lookup tool
The tool at Find your representative stores nothing at all. Your address is passed to Geocod.io for the lookup and then discarded. No record is created, no email is sent, and you are not signing anything.
Records from the old website
This site replaced a WordPress build in September 2026. We brought across 393 submissions from it, including the original form data as it was captured, and 82 of those records carry a street address. People who signed the old petition are on the mailing list. People who only wrote in with a question are not, and will not be added: the opt-in box described above did not exist on the old site, so no migrated contact record can have used it. If you were on the old site and want your record gone, see below.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to another organization for their own use. There is no advertising pixel on this site, no third-party analytics script, and no tracking cookie. We do not build a profile of what you read here.
We do not text anyone who has not ticked the text message box and given a number.
Who can see it inside the campaign
The people running the campaign, through a password-protected page on this site. That page is the only way anyone reads these records, and it is not public.
How long we keep it
For as long as the campaign is running, unless you ask us to delete it. There is no fixed deletion schedule beyond that.
How to leave, and how to see what we hold
Every email has an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text message.
To have your record deleted, or to be sent a copy of everything we hold about you, email hello@nhexitnow.org and say which you want. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask for one. If any of it is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking cookies. Cloudflare's bot check may set a short-lived token to confirm you are a person, and nothing else.
