What we have done
- Text and background colors are checked against a 4.5:1 contrast ratio.
- Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link.
- Form fields have real labels, not placeholder text pretending to be labels.
- Errors appear next to the field they belong to and are announced to screen readers.
- Animation is switched off entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Text reflows without a horizontal scrollbar down to a 320 pixel viewport, and can be zoomed to 200 percent.
- Information is never carried by color alone.
Known gaps
The roll call diagram on the homepage is a visual representation of a vote. It is hidden from screen readers on purpose, because four hundred identical marks is noise rather than information. The same figures are written out in the text immediately beside it.
